The village of Le Caylar is situated along the southern edge of the Larzac plateau. The town is directly linked to the service area on the A75.
Atop Le Roc-Castel, which overlooks the village a former wooden chapel is surrounded by the remains of a fortress.
On the village square, the carved tree illustrates the pastoral tradition of flora and fauna of the surrounding farmland.
